Calafell is a former fishing village on the Costa Daurada, 60 km South from Barcelona and 40 km North from Tarragona.

The town has an extensive Iberian, Roman and medieval cultural past. That’s seen in the medieval castle of Santa Creu de Calafell (eleven century), the Vilarenc Roman town, the reconstructed Iberian town of Les Toixoneres (sixth century BC), and Casa Barral, summer home of the famous writer, among many other attractions.

The beach of Calafell, traditional fishermen’s place in Calafell, has a large seafood based tradition.
