The seafood is the basis of Calafell’s food tradition, always combining it with the products of the earth.
The ‘Arrossejat’ or ‘Fideuà’ (noodles with seafood) is the most famous dish of Calafell. It is a family and fishermen’s dish which today can be enjoyed as a true culinary refinement. At the same time, the variety of fish and seafood is very large and elaborate, thanks to the seafaring tradition of Calafell.
More recently, xató has been generally recovered: it’s an endive based salad, traditional in the Penedès region.
